Among all those used to produce the lemongrass essence there are only two, the Cymbopogon Nardus and the Cymbopogon Winterianus.
The latter, Winterianus, also called C. from Java, is also more valuable and has a lower content of essential oils than the first, also called C. from Ceylon. This is the species used to derive those essential oils loved by us and hated by mosquitoes, in general.

To move the Lemongrass from the earth, if we have placed it there, to the vase, in autumn we proceed by cutting the clump of leaves positioned close to the earth, this to be able to preserve the plant for the following year. Then just place our vase in which a little sun comes, as soon as the good weather returns, and let it sprout.
The Citronella leaves they are quite thick and of a beautiful bright green that must be kept that way using our green thumb to the fullest. Brilliant or not. Therefore, we water the seedlings regularly, every 2 or 3 weeks, keeping the deep wet soil and making sure that not everything remains dry. However, water stagnation is also absolutely to be avoided.
Another useful measure to have luxuriant e fragrant citronella plants concerns the prevention with insecticide, the treatment is to be carried out in the first heat of summer and at the beginning of the spring season, in a wide range, by spraying it in the garden. But never if there are blooms in progress. Before the buds get big, another treatment: that fungicide.
