Punta Campanella: videos and photos

Punta Campanella, where man meets the sea, and it doesn't hurt him too much. Here is a beautiful reserve that manages to tell how a part of the coast and salt water were saved from the presence and density of the inhabitants of the area, standing out as an example of limited environmental impact. Especially with regard to the sea.

Great climate, waters rich in fish and fertile soil they drew a Punta Campanella and its surroundings the presence of ancient civilizations and, today, an intense network of cultural realities remains alongside the pre-existing historical and archaeological ones. We are among the Campi Flegrei, the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno.

Punta Campanella: where it is and how to get there

Punta Campanella and its reserve embraces the Sorrentine Peninsula, an area that has managed to keep itself not, I say, intact but in good condition, preserving its identity characterized by olive and citrus groves that accompany the gaze to the sea. There is no shortage of urban settlements nearby, and also quite substantial: apart from Naples, they should also be mentioned Bagnoli and Pozzuoli on one side, Herculaneum, Torre del Greco, Torre Annunziata is Castellammare di Stabia on the other.

To reach by train Punta Campanella from Naples, from the railway station Piazza Garibaldi you have to go to Sorrento with the Circumvesuviana and then continue to Massa Lubrense with a bus. Going down in viale Filangieri we just have to go along via Palma and via Roma up to the headquarters of the Reserve.

By car, from Naples, take the A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria to the Castellammare di Stabia exit from which to take the state road 145 Sorrentina to Sorrento and then continue towards Massa Lubrense. Arriving in Piazza Vescovado, it is better to park and walk as if arriving by bus.

The reference airport to reach Punta Campanella is that of Capodichino, and then take a first bus to Sorrento and a second to Massa Lubrense.

The architecture is inspired by the Mediterranean tradition, the large outlet to the sea is Blue Flag: we are in the bay of Marina di Cantone and Massa Lubrense, among the Faraglioni of Capri and the island of the Gauls.

Punta Campanella: beach

Among the beaches of Punta Campanella and its surroundings is that of Bay of Ieranto, on the eastern side. To get there we have to walk the entire path that it gives Nerano leads to the extreme tip of the Amalfi Coast, but it is a sacred territory even to the ancient Greeks who, to clarify it for posterity, built a temple to the Sirens, the Romans recycled it for the Goddess Minerva. Returning to today and to the beach, from it you can see right in front, the Faraglioni of Capri. The trail can be difficult to walk in full sun hours but 110% worth it.
