Natural expectorants: simple remedies to prepare with natural ingredients readily available at home, to combat coughs, colds and phlegm.

When we talk about expectorants we refer to a category of drugs that can be both chemically synthesized and natural. Their main action is to free the respiratory tract of mucus, making it fluid so as to facilitate its expulsion.

Natural expectorants are truly a valid alternative to synthetic drugs and can be used both to facilitate the expulsion of secretions and to prevent them. In fact, they are used as a treatment for coughs, colds and other respiratory disorders where there is congestion, mucus and other annoying symptoms that hinder normal breathing.

There are several reasons why natural expectorants are preferred over a synthetic mucolytic: there are side effects, less damage to the bronchial walls, no allergic effects to the active ingredients of the drug.

Expectorants are available in the pharmacy in the form of syrup and pills, but we can have the same effect thanks to some natural ingredients, easily available at home. Let's see together what are the most suitable natural expectorants for those with respiratory problems. Don't hesitate to try them when you need them.
